LetsULearn gallops Black Horse to prestigious motor industry award

Black Horse’s LetsULearn online training portal, built on Unicorn’s SkillsServe platform, took home the ‘Product of the Year’ prize at the prestigious Motor Trader Awards on Wednesday 13 July.

The award, from respected motor industry publication Motor Trader, was presented to Black Horse’s David Pilling and Paul Brotherton by BBC sports presenter Jake Humphrey, who hosted the glittering ceremony in London.

LetsULearn was devised by Black Horse as a free online training tool to guide dealers through last year’s Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) changes.

When faced with the challenge of creating an industry leading solution for the impending legislative changes that impacted both Black Horse and its dealers, Black Horse took the decision to invest in a product which not only supported its customers through these changes but created a platform for future training support.

In conjunction with specialist training company Unicorn, and using Unicorn’s SkillsServe online learning portal at the core, Black Horse provided free training to over 11,000 sales staff in 7,000 dealerships within a matter of months.

This proactive approach allowed dealers to move seamlessly from one set of statutory regulations to another, thus helping them to protect a valuable profit centre.

Motor Trader were impressed by Black Horse’s innovation, forward thinking and leadership for the motor industry, as well as the real value LetsULearn offered dealers.

LetsULearn’s greatest asset is the legacy it has now created. It has since been used to host the new highly interactive Contract Hire / Personal Contract Hire eLearning module, also designed and built by Unicorn. Black Horse is also currently looking at new ways to utilize LetsULearn’s capabilities and is excited about the almost limitless possibilities it could offer dealers now and in the future.

Neill McWilliams, Managing Director, Unicorn Training, said: “We are delighted that Black Horse’s LetsULearn training portal has been recognised as setting a benchmark in motor industry training.”
