NEWS: New Media Writing Prize – Win Chance to Work at Unicorn for 3 Months!
Unicorn Training is offering one student the chance to win a three-month paid work placement as part of Bournemouth University’s Media School’s annual New Media Writing Prize.
The competition encourages writers working with new media to showcase their skills. It also aims to provoke discussion and raise awareness of new-media writing, the future of the ‘written’ word and storytelling.
Open to anyone, including all outside the UK, judges are looking for great storytelling (fiction or non-fiction) written specifically for delivery and reading/viewing on a PC or Mac, or a hand-held device such as an iPad or mobile phone.
It could be a short story, novel, documentary or poem using words, images, film or animation with audience interactivity.
The winner of the Best Student prize will land three-month work placement at Unicorn Training, in Dorset, UK. The timing of the placement will be negotiated between the winner and Unicorn.
Unicorn Training was named Outstanding Learning Company at the 2013 eLearning Awards and, with over 25 years’ experience in the business, the winning student is guaranteed to enjoy a varied, eye opening placement where ideas and innovation are encouraged, embraced and delivered to create world class learning experiences.
The closing date for students is Friday December 12 at 12pm GMT. Each entry should be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Shortlisted entrants will be invited to the awards ceremony on the 21 January 2015 where the winner will be announced. Winning entries which will be published on high profile new media web-hub, The Literary Platform, the Bournemouth University website and will be showcased at the Awards Ceremony.
As well as the Best Student award, there are prizes for Best Overall – £1,000 donated by if:book UK – and People’s Choice – £250 voted for by the reading public.
